He came, he saw, he went. Simple as his name, Edo.

Edo is a long-time friend of Paula. They met in the Faculty of Biology when Paula was still working on her doctorates degree. Edo was 16 then, eleven years younger than Paula, going to high school and knowing more of Biology than some (it is probably more accurate if I write »most«) students of Biology even then. Now he is studying for his master’s degree in Dresden (before that he spent a couple of months in a lab in Australia), doing something with brain functions and whatnot. I must admit that when Paula and Edo converse, I feel I would rather talk to a German. I would definitely understand more of that conversation. But other than being brilliant at what he does, which he does with passion (just like Paula – what is it with these biologists and their passion for work), Edo is a really nice stand-up guy with a brilliant future in science. And he is also our first visitor here in Germany. But he stayed with us only for a day. It was brief but very pleasant. I hope I showed him everything I have learned about the beer culture in Germany, I sure did try. 🙂

So we went to the city, we watched a couple of movies while kids were sleeping, we ate, we roller-skated after almost a decade of non-roller-skating and then we drove him to the bus station.

We took Edo to a pastry shop and realised this is our kids first time in a pastry shop. They were on a sugar rush later. / Edota sva peljala v slaščičarno in ugotovila, da sta otroka prvič v slaščičarni. Potem sta imela preoblico sladkorja v krvi.

Smo bili v mestu, smo pogledali par filmov, ko sta otroka spala, smo veliko jedli, smo rolali po skoraj desetletju brez rolanja in potem sva ga odpeljala na avtobusno postajo.
